“Every jewel has been created with the same devotion as in the past, because the secrets to obtain the finest jewellery pieces are always the same: care for detail, patience and passion.”
Because your sparkler is such an important piece of jewellery proper engagement ring care should be a top priority after your significant other pops the question. After all, you’ve spent months, perhaps years, dreaming of the perfect engagement ring, so now that it’s a permanent fixture in your hand, you’ll want to ensure it stays just as shiny and sparkly for many years to come. This ring is meant to last a lifetime, so it pays to give it the best treatment possible.
If you have chosen a Rod Valenz design you have selected a diamond engagement ring that has been a handcrafted bespoke masterpiece that is uniquely yours. Design and crafted in Melbourne. These rings come with our hallmark stamp of quality and a complimentary lifetime checking and cleaning service. Should your engagement ring require servicing please take it directly to our studio for as to do the work while you wait with a coffee in our VIP room!
At home Soak engagement rings in a bowl that contains four parts warm water and one part household ammonia for no more than ten minutes. Brush the ring very gently with a very soft small brush, such as a child’s toothbrush or a soft toothbrush, dip it back into the solution, rinse it in cool or lukewarm water and leave it to drain on a lint-free cloth or towel.
If you’d prefer not to use ammonia, make a bowl of warm, soapy water using liquid detergent and leave your engagement ring to soak for around 30 minutes.
Note: Paper tissues can leave fibres and dust on the ring and are therefore less suitable for rubbing your diamond engagement ring dry than jewellery cloths or other lint-free fabrics.
A professional clean and check up is always a good idea. This should be done at least once a year. It gives you the opportunity to have the best sparkle and also your jeweller will tell you the condition of your stones, so that you could take appropriate action in order to protect your engagement ring.
Always pick up your ring from the band, not the diamond, to avoid natural oils from your fingers building up around the stone’s setting and preventing the rock from coming loose.
It’s always advisable to remove your diamonds when cleaning or using harsh chemicals such as bleach and hair dye, as they may have the potential to cause lasting damage.
As diamonds can scratch other jewellery and gemstones or could be scratched by other diamonds best to keep your ring away from other jewellery items.
We suggest keeping your Rod Valenz engagement ring in it’s original pink and black suede leather box.
Just got engaged, and you are out with your friends and they all want a closer look at your beautiful engagement ring, please be very careful not to drop it in a busy crowd, and also the sparkle of your diamond would be compromised. (Keep away the grease and hand cream) Hand washing is a must in a public restroom but resists the temptation to remove engagement rings. The possibility that you might leave your engagement ring on the edge of the sink, or, worse, drop it down the drain, is too great a risk to take.
Insurance, is necessary to protect your financial investment (at least for the first year) in the event that something gets lost, stolen or damaged, specially engagement rings It is also important to have your jewellery appraised every five year as the cost of diamonds and precious metals change.
1.Decide your budget – Two months salary is normally what the average person is willing to pay. The key is to make sure you are comfortable with what you can afford.
2.Metal type – Check your partners existing jewellery, they might like Yellow Gold, Rose Gold or prefer a whiter metal, such as White Gold, Platinum . The Cost will vary depending on the type of metal you choose.
3.Stone shape – The stone shape is very important from the wearers perspective. You have quite a few options to choose from. Think about what will suit your partner.
