The family name originates from Valenzuela, Córdoba, Spain, a town steeped in jewellery, making tradition and situated within one of the world's oldest jewellery-manufacturing regions. Renowned for centuries for producing fine jewellery, Córdoba became the foundation of our family's craft, where the skills, discipline, and values of traditional jewellery making were first passed from one generation to the next.
My grandfather was a traditional jeweller, as was my father after him. Today, I proudly carry forward their legacy, preserving the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dedication to excellence that have defined our family for generations. Upon arriving in Australia, our family continued its journey in jewellery manufacturing and retail, establishing boutique stores and workshops throughout Victoria, including the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern suburbs.
These ventures helped build a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and personalised service, laying the foundation for the Rod Valenz brand. Today, that legacy continues from our beautifully restored Victorian townhouse at 46 Church Street, Hawthorn. This elegant two-storey studio seamlessly blends old-world craftsmanship with modern innovation. Behind its heritage façade lies a state-of-the-art workshop equipped with advanced micro-setting technology, revolutionary CAD design systems, and precision 3D printing capabilities.
Downstairs, clients are welcomed into a personally curated showroom and design studio, where ideas are transformed into hand-drawn concepts, bespoke creations, and future family heirlooms. Every piece is designed, handcrafted, and finished entirely in-house, ensuring complete attention to detail from the first sketch to the final polish.
We specialise in bespoke engagement rings and fine jewellery, creating pieces that reflect the individuality of each client. From the initial concept through to the finished masterpiece, every stage of the journey is guided by craftsmanship, precision, and a commitment to excellence.
